Firstly I would say pleasure not leisure...and slave not other... Service was great, unobtrusive, playful, and understanding...particularly when I inadvertently disturbed the owners in the middle of the nite !!! Our room was clean...could of done with a box of 'man-size' tissues...and my TV girlfriend found the animated art on the wall difficult although I did not..on the contrary,...amusing...in a... more

Booked the Black Tulip after reading all the reviews. It did not disappoint! Onno is an excellent host, very friendly, helping point out all the sights on a map after offering us a beer on our arrival. The hotel itself is in a 400 year old townhouse, and beautifully appointed! Breakfast was superb, highly recommend the omelettes! The hotel is... more

The Black Tulip is one of the nicer hotels I have ever stayed in - and this is saying a lot, as I travel frequently for business. Take away the fun playthings - and STILL its a wonderful place. The rooms are clean, beautiful, well decorated. Everything you need is right there. And breakfast was delicious. Furthermore, by Amsterdam standards,... more

I have been to Amsterdam 10 times now - I am in love with the classic European, yet modern feel, to the city. The adult playground is nice too - if you care to indulge in the sorts of things that may include. I have now stayed at the Black Tulip 4 of those 10 visits and will keep going... more

We where staying in Black Tulip 5 days in September and it was our best vacation in Amsterdam. Wonderful location, clean and quite rooms, new experience and good impressions – what do you need more for leisure? Family atmosphere and exclusive breakfast always included in price. Best regards and best wished to the owners of this hotel! more

We stayed at the Black Tulip while Biking through Europe - at the end of our trip mainly because of the Positive reviews on trip advisor and the reasonable price of the rooms (as compared to other hotels in Amsterdam). To sum it up - we really enjoyed our stay here. It is located overlooking a canal and the owners... more

Onno was very welcoming and cooks a mean omelette. Had room 12(?) ground floor, front, great bed, deep tub, very nicely decorated, high ceiling -.oh, and a cage, too, if you like! Very quiet, & blackout curtains. Excellent location in the heart of A-dam near train station on a quiet canal...but just steps from all the action. Met some nice... more

For our first trip to Amsterdam, for Gay Pride Weekend, my partner & I chose to stay in Black Tulip on the basis of the reviews and the website. We were not disappointed and had a great time! The Black Tulip is centrally located on a lovely quiet street, overlooking a canal, near the central train station, Red Light District,... more
