Came here looking for those unique bubble formations that make this place special. It was cold and windy and snowy, but the ice was clear as glass and the bubbles were beautiful. If you decide to come, gear up and get ready. Jackets, coats, snow...More

Maybe we went early or late already of the month. We haven’t seen much of bubbles underneath the lake but it was amazing to see some! Or maybe we did not see the right spots to see more bubbles!

Abraham Lake is a man-made lake, which forms ice bubbles in winter, due to the methane produced by the decaying vegetation at the bottom of the lake. In summer, the mix is flammable. In winter, you get amazing bubbles, including bubble stacks. Abraham Lake is...More

We drove along the length of this lake as far as we could. Lots of stopping areas and small roads that lead down to the shore line and the shingle beaches. The sky was as blue as the glacier fed lake, the snow capped mountains...More

Amazing place, we just came there with 2 campers, the water has amazing colors. We camped 4 nights and kited everyday. It's not a beginner place for kiteboarding, can be gusty and rocks on the shore.

Beautiful lake. Can’t wait till come back in the winter and see the bubbles. And hopefully spend more time here next time. We were just stopping on our way through. It was worth the stop.

We went out for May long weekend and had noticed the levels of the water were quite a bit down from previous year. Changes the beauty of it quite a bit. Also many vehicles/campers were down and on the lake bed which is not unusual.

The is not much snow around the lake and the roads were dry and bare. However. The road from Jasper to Sask. River Crossing is often snowy, but they keep it well ploughed. No idea how the roads are farther west, #5 or the... More
